Paul & Monica's Coffee House - Madame Mocha's Espresso Pub & Tea Room was Buffalo's first such enterprise to deal in 100% Fair Trade Organic coffee, tea, and espresso. Paul and Monica offered their services in Tarot consultation and teealeaf reading at the establishment, along with free Wifi, live acoustic music, and more. Unfortunately, the poor state of the economy, location issues, and harassment from an influential local Catholic priest discouraging patronage forced the closing of the business after one year of operation in February of 2008. Although the couple had a solid business plan and recieved rave reviews in major Buffalo area entertainment publications, it was not enough to support this progressive and otherwise worhtwhile venture. Still, Paul and Monica hope to re-open the business in a more suitable location, with proper financial backing as the economy starts to recover.
