About Monica a.k.a. "Ravyn LeFay"
Monica, Me, The Monkey Man & Our Peanut
Monica, Me, The Monkey Man & Our PeanutMonica began absorbing books at a very early age.  In her pre-teen adolescent years she developed a strong interest in the supernatural. Throughout her life, anything relating to metaphysics, the paranormal, folklore, and various religious studies have played a major role. Like many people heavily involved in esoteric practices, her family encouraged her interests early on.  Both her parents were also fascinated with obscure subjects.  her grandmother on her mother's side, Elsie Brocklehurst, was an avid Astrologer.  Monica's extensive library holds many of her books as gained through inheritance.  Antonia St.Laurent, grandmother on her father's side, read omens from both playing cards and tealeaves.  Monica is perhaps one of the very few, if not only remaining Tealeaf readers practicing this art in the Buffalo area today!

Monica believes strongly in living and promoting the holistic lifestyle.  She encourages complete interaction between the spirit, mind, and body in line with whole earth consciousness and natural living.  She is the mother of 5 children - four boys and a girl.  The two youngest children were naturally birthed at home with assistance by midwives.

If asked about her "religion" or personal subscriptions, her answer is simply that she is a "Cross-Cultural Universalist".  In other words, she respects and finds enlightenment in the universal divinity that transcends the man-made concepts of religion.  In her opinion, no single religion has the exclusive right to claim "sole knowledge" of truth and righteousness because all paths can lead to enlightenment.

She has developed her skills in Tarot and Tealeaf Reading through years of study, contemplation, reflection, meditation and experience through practical application.  people from the widest scope of lifestyles, social status, religious subscriptions and walks of life have sought counsel through her with great satisfaction.  The tools she employs, along with her universalist spiritual subscriptions and skills, enable her to provide these services in divination to anyone seeking them without prejudice or bias.

Monica's own personal spiritual journey ever continues, enhanced by every experience and with everybody she meets.  She has been a part of Hearthstone Manor Psychic Fairs, The Allentown Arts Festival, Artvoice Street Party, Iron Island Festival, and Seneca Nations Casino events.  She has been the house reader at the Clarence Center Coffee Company since 1999 and most recently became one of the featured readers at Mason Winfield's Haunted Ghost Walks and Ghost Toast events.  Hopefully you will be part of that journey as well, sharing in an equally enjoyable and enlightening experience.
Tarot Readings by Monica...

Monica and I hit it off right away when we met back in 1997.  It was actually our shared interestes in metaphysics that brought us together through a mutual acquaintence to begin with.  She had already been studying the Tarot among other things for quite some time, as her biography above indicates.  Since we've been together, she has worked with me on numerous occasions with great success.  I have to say that if it wasn't for Monica, my book being completed and published would not have been possible without the support and asistance she's provided.  Although our respective reading styles do differ slightly, she is every bit the reader I am, if not more so at times.  I can truly attest to her abilities and guarantee your satisfaction with what she has to offer as a skilled Cartomancer.

Tealeaf Readings by Monica...

Tealeaf Reading, also known as "Tasseomancy", originated in China and the Middle East.  It then later found it's way into Europe, gaining in popularity, Especially in the U.K. where tea is the national beverage.  Along with cards, Crystal Gazing, and Palmistry, it has also held prominence as one the preferred fortunetelling methods of the Romany Gypsy tribes.

The practice itself entails the use of loose black tea and a ceremony of brief concentrated activities engaged by the questioner as promted by the respective reader.  In the end, pictures are formed by the groupings of leaves that bear out related omens as interpreted by the reader. With the teacup itself acting as a calendar, the postions of the pictures formed within various points of the cup give indications as to when the activities related to the pictures will occur.
